Badrinath

The Badrinath Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, rests at the base of the stunning Nilkantha mountain. Established by Guru Adi Shankaracharya in the eighth century, it's among the most accessible Char Dham temples. After decades, it underwent renovations. Hot springs nearby, reaching 40 degrees Celsius, serve as laundry spots. Adi Shankaracharya discovered the idol of Badrinayaran in the Alakananda River, leading to the temple's construction. Constructed in the 16th century by the King of Garhwal, the temple boasts intricate carvings resembling a Buddhist Vihara. Legend has it that this site was where Lord Shiva meditated under a Badri tree shaded by Goddess Lakshmi, giving the place its name
